A bigger model needs a bigger Mac.
Local models run in your Mac’s memory. Tyne checks your RAM and uses the largest model that runs well, and tells you up front if an upgrade won’t change the model you get.

Why is dictation unlimited on Free?
Because it costs us nothing. WhisperKit and the cleanup model run on your Mac, so there is no per-word bill to pass on. Paid plans add capture modes, bigger models and more Macs, not more words.
Is it as accurate as cloud dictation?
Local models are very good, not state of the art. Hosted models can still do better on noisy audio, heavy accents and some languages. That is why Pro lets you add your own cloud key, off by default.
Will a bigger model help on my Mac?
Only if your Mac has the memory for it. Tyne checks your RAM and picks the largest model that runs well. On an 8 GB Mac, Plus and Pro won’t get a larger model, and we’ll tell you before you upgrade.
What does the bring-your-own cloud key do?
It sends text to a provider you choose, such as Groq or Gemini, under your own account. It is opt-in, clearly labelled when it is on, and never enabled by default.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for, then move to Free. Unlimited dictation keeps working, and your notes stay on your Mac.
Do you offer refunds?
No. Payments are final, but you can cancel anytime. If you were charged in error, email support@tyne.io and we will put it right.
Who processes payments?
Dodo Payments is the merchant of record and handles tax and VAT. We never see your card details.
How does Team billing work?
Team is $10 per user a month with a 3-seat minimum, on one invoice. Seats can be reassigned. Email sales@tyne.io with how many Macs you need.
